By far the most accomplished game I have worked on and certainly one of my favourites to work on at that point. Rebound was a game idea submitted to the DARE to be Digital 2016 student game development competition. It was accepted and sent to the final stage which allowed us to develop the game over a 10 week period and show it off at the DARE Protoplay event that is held in Dundee. I was one of two programmers in a team of eight and I believe what we were able to do in three short months was fantastic considering how much the game got praised for being an already very polished product and a joy to play.

 

As the lead programmer, it was my goal to liaison with artists and designers to ensure that the games original vision from original concept was fully realised in the game's engine. A personal goal of mine was to further refine my experience in coding gameplay logic as I focused on making the game feel as good (juicy) as possible for the player.

The game is a simple but competitive multiplayer dodge ball game that has players fight it out in small bite sized matches where one hit kills and gameplay modifiers are switched in to keep variety up. 

The game was developed in Unreal and was one of the 3 winners of the competition meaning that it received a BAFTA one’s to watch award nomination. The game was showcased in various events around the UK such as Glasgow’s Resonate event, Manchester’s Play Expo and London's EGX Rezzed 2018 & 2019.
